There is something about sun kissed skin that makes me feel so much better. The perfect bronze glow can be difficult to achieve at times, especially during the Fall and Winter. In addition, sitting out in the sun all day every day during the Spring and Summer may give you a nice tan, but it is also bad for your skin and can lead to signs of pre-mature aging. That is why I have spent a lot of time and effort trying to find the perfect sunless tanners. They make me feel amazing year round, and they do not cause any harm to my skin. Keep on reading for some of my absolute favorites I have found throughout the years.

Lux Unfiltered

This easy to apply cream is all you need to look like you have just returned from a trip to St. Barts.

N12 Bronzing Face Drops: We all know the worst thing you can do with a self-tanner is forget your face. When you spend time in the sun, you entire body and face develop an even tan. However, when people use self-tanners, they often skip their face for fear of looking “fake.” But, when you leave your face untanned, you will end up looking unnatural. N12 face drops are the perfect way to combat this mistake.

These drops are fragrance free to avoid any kind of irritation on the sensitive skin of the face. The formula is also non-comedogenic, non-toxic, vegan and cruelty free. The number of drops required by each person will vary due to natural skin color. A general guide runs as follows: 1-2 drops provides a light and subtle tan and 5 or more drops provides a deep tan. Start with a single drop and slowly work your way up if needed. Simply mix these drops with your daily moisturizer to see your face slowly darken over time, in a way that will look natural and avoid pre-mature wrinkles that sun exposure may cause.

Face Drops: Everyone’s skin is different and sometimes it takes a couple of tries before finding the perfect product for your face. The Tan Luxe Face Drops are another great product I have found to help keep my face color even with that of my body. Mix one to four drops into your daily moisturizer depending on the level of tan you are hoping to achieve. Be sure to rub in thoroughly for an even tan. These face drops are very concentrated so be sure to start with 1-2 drops before advancing to more.

Spray Tans

SKJ: Sunkissed by Jenni is an absolute legend when it comes to spray tans in LA. In fact, I don’t think there is anyone I would trust more to give me a spray tan than her. Whether you are interested in a full body airbrush tan, face only or detailed contouring, she can do it all. She has an amazing way of making your tan noticeable, yet still look so natural. The best part…Jenni does house calls which is extremely convenient. I usually like to book a session at home before I take off on vacation, or before a big event. I don’t think I have ever heard a bad review about SKJ, and her portfolio speaks for itself.

Sugared and Bronzed: Sugared and Bronzed is an amazing place to get a spray tan that has various locations. The FlexExpress tan takes 20 minutes and gives phenomenal results. Keep in mind that if you shower 1-8 hours post tan to skip the soap. But, if you are showering more than 8 hours after your tan, shower as you normally would. Sugared and Bronzed also offers the Mobile FlexExpress Tan. This is also a 20 minute appointment, but the tan comes to you! It is yet another great way to have peak convenience for a big event or before you leave for a trip. Sugared and Bronzed is a great idea if you are in need of hair removal in addition to a spray tan.
