San Francisco was my home for 6 years, and I still go back at least once a month to see my family and friends. The city is so lively with young entrepreneurs, tech start-ups, great restaurants, wine bars, and boutiques. I love the city because each area has a totally different vibe, so you can really find something for everyone.
DISTRICTS//
Marina – This area is very walkable with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. This is where a lot of young professionals live and young families. I lived here for most of my time in SF!
Pacific Heights – This area has some of the best views of the water! This is a little bit of an older crowd, more high-end shops and quieter neighborhood.
Nob Hill – In my opinion this area has the best views of the city. Slower paced but has some hidden gems!
Financial District – Speaks for itself! There’s some incredible restaurants on the water here. Most are larger and are packed during the weekdays. There’s also some great happy hour spots.
Mission – I think The Mission has some of the best restaurants in the city. It’s has some great culture and a artist/hipster vibe to it.

WHEN TO VISIT//
The best time to visit San Francisco is in September or October! It’s actually their warmer months with the most reliable weather, less fog and fewer crowds. June – Aug is actually pretty cold, and you can expect the fog to roll in with an ocean breeze on most afternoons. It is still a great time to visit SF though, as there are tons of great festivals, concerts and events going on.
EAT//
Kokkari – favorite greek restaurant in SF! A must, but you need to make a reservation far in advance. If you can’t get in for dinner they also serve lunch. The octopus is delicious!
Foreign Cinema – one of my favorites. The food, ambiance and people are great. It has a small courtyard in the middle that’s open-air, with twinkle lights and they project old movies on the wall at dinner. It’s the cutest spot!
A16 – a staple in SF for Italian. They bring you scissors to cut your pizza the just came out of the wood even!
Wayfare Tavern the dark, romantic atmosphere mixed with
Stones Throw

Union Larder: my absolute favorite spot! They have the most delicious charcuterie & cheese plates as well as a wonderful wine selection. I feel like I’m back in Spain when I’m in here – a must in my book.
Amelie – French wine bar
The Hidden Vine – Financial District
