There is no doubt I absolutely love to travel. Whether its an international trip to the South of France, or a local getaway along the coastline, traveling always has been and always will be a big part of my life. While I love just about everything related to traveling, one of the few things I dislike is deciding which products to take and which to leave at home. I am very passionate about maintaining good skin and hair care routines, and have spent years finding what works well for me. That being said, unfortunately, something always has to give. However, I have narrowed down a few of my favorite staples that I can’t live without…even when I travel. Fortunately, most of these products also come in travel sizes, which makes my life so much easier.
+Lux Unfiltered No 14 Conditioning Body Cream
In the Summer months, my skin dries out so quickly. This conditioning body cream helps to seal in moisture no matter what time of year it may be. I love putting it on right after I step foot out of the shower, to help seal in the moisture.
+Lux Unfiltered No 32 Hydrating Self-Tanning Cream
There is nothing I love more than tan skin. While I spend as much time as possible in the sun, sometimes my skin needs a little extra boost of color. This hydrating self-tanning cream gives me a natural glow, all while working to keep my skin hydrated and soft.
R+Co Waterfall Moisture and Shine Lotion
You are probably starting to notice a pattern here with products that keep me hydrated. This moisture and shine lotion is absolutely key to keeping my hair soft and healthy. This hair smoothing cream helps to tame frizz and prevent breakage. A little goes a long way, even if you have a lot of hair.
Tan Luxe Illuminating Self-Tan Drops
These self tan drops help to build up a natural glowing tan over time. My favorite part about these drops is you can customize how dark of a tan you get by changing the amount of drops you use. They are cruelty and toxin free, and will give you the perfect vacation glow.
Olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil
Olaplex No 7 Bonding Oil is an absolute must in your haircare routine. This is especially true if you use heat on your hair regularly or if you dye your hair. Bringing damaged hair back to life can feel like an impossible feat. However, this lightweight oil repairs, strengthens and hydrates hair back to life by repairing the di-sulfide bonds that help to prevent breakage.
Oribe Superfine Hairspray
I have tried just about every hairspray under the sun and nothing beats Oribe’s Superfine Hairspray. This hairspray gives hair a light to medium hold, that keeps your hairstyle looking fresh, while still allowing you to run your fingers through your hair. With the perfect amount of scent, this hairspray is one of the products I can’t leave home without. Fortunately, they make it in travel size.
Detox Dry Shampoo
Detox Dry Shampoo is the holy grail of dry shampoos. I’ve tried everything from various budget brands to luxury dry shampoos and this one takes the cake. While the smell may be a bit strong for some, it’s so work an extra day or two of not having to wash your hair on vacation. Pro Tip: Spray it into the roots of your hair before you go to bed. When you wake up, you’ll have nothing but fresh looking hair.
Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede Cologne
Jo Malone has some of my favorite scents for both candles and perfumes. They make some of the best gifts for others, and for when you want to treat yourself. The Peony and Blush Suede Cologne is my go to fragrance when I travel. It’s not too strong, but still leaves you smelling amazing all night.
Skinceuticals HA Intensifier
This face serum is exactly what your skin needs after a day of travel. Skinceuticals is known for their effective medical grade formulations, and this HA Intensifier does not disappoint. Just make sure you apply it on skin that is slightly damp so you can utilize its full potential.
Beautycounter Featherweight Foundation
While I try to let my skin breathe as much as possible, there are definitely times when I want some natural coverage. This featherweight foundation covers up the parts of my skin I don’t love, without me feeling like I have full glam makeup caked on for a day at the beach. With 18 buildable shades, this Beautycounter foundation offers everything I could want out of natural coverage.
Beautycounter Intense Moisture Serum
I love to lather this intense moisture serum on my skin after a long day in the sun. Formulated with two forms of hyaluronic acid and Vitamins C and E, delivers both hydration and antioxidant protection. This serum is also a great alternative if you don’t feel like splurging on the Skinceuticals HA Intensifier.
Elta MD UV Clear Sunscreen
I have tried so many different sunscreens on my face and always have a difficult time finding ones that don’t cause breakouts. With hyaluronate, lactic acid and SPF 46, this sunscreen moisturizes skin, clears pores and provides adequate sun protection. The best part…it doesn’t leave a white cast on your face like so many other sunscreens and can be worn flawlessly under makeup.
Supergoop Play Sunscreen
One of the difficult parts of traveling is trying to consolidate products. Fortunately, Supergoop makes it easier with their Play sunscreen. Meant for both face and body, this sunscreen is an all-in-one for your next vacation. Supergoop sunscreen has a way to making you feel moisturized and protected without leaving the greasy film that comes with most sunscreens.
Unite 7 Seconds Detangler
Detanglers are an important part of good haircare. The Unite 7 Seconds detangler is true to its name. It quickly detangles hair while also providing UV and heat protection. I love that this product comes in both full size and travel size spray bottles so I can take it everywhere I go.
