I just got back from another fabulous trip to Maui! I have to say it is one of my favorite places on earth. You can’t help but walk around with a smile on your face at all times. I know I had written up a few things about Hawaii before but I wanted to dive a little deeper into Maui.

This it around we stayed at The Four Seasons, which was i n c r e d I b l e. I have to say it’s some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. I always say it’s the little things and the service that sets apart one luxury hotel from another.

When we checked in I had told them that we were there celebrating my fiancé, Chris’s birthday and they delivered! On the day of his birthday they went above and beyond. We had the buffet breakfast every day and everyone including the omelet station cook said Happy Birthday! They then delivered the cutest plate with pastries, sprinkles, a happy birthday message and a candle. This is all before 10am! We then went back to our room and they delivered birthday cupcakes and champagne to get the festivities started. It just kept on going from there. He had at least 20 “Happy Birthdays” from the staff and more dessert after dinner. That’s just one example of many that shows how great their service is.

One other thing that was just so cute and thoughtful was every time we left our sunglasses in the room the housekeeper would put sunglass-cleaning cloths under each one and line them up. It’s a small thing but I just love little details like this.

Pool:

They have a kid’s pool and an adult-only pool. We stayed at the adult-only pool most of the time because there were quite a few kids at the other pool. The adult pool has a gorgeous infinity edge that overlooks the beach and the other islands. It also has a swim-up pool bar and hot tub. It’s open from 7am until sunset whereas, the other pool is open 24 hours.

Beach:

Their beach is one of my favorites in Wailea. It’s in an area without many waves so it’s easy to walk right into the ocean and swim. They also have a lot of fun non-motorized sports like stand up paddleboards, kayaks, and canoes. The snorkeling right out front is fabulous! You can see lots of different fish, gorgeous coral and sometimes sea turtles. The FS beach staff can set you up with chairs, an umbrella if you’d like and bring a water station just for your table.

Rooms:

Their rooms are done very well and decorated in a nice beach luxury theme. They have balconies that look out to the ocean with nice lounge furniture and a small table. The TV‘s are huge, the lighting in the bathroom is great and the beds are very comfortable. We had a partial ocean view, which was great for us. It overlooked the mountains and the ocean, which was spectacular.

Restaurant:

Spago: A MUST!  It’s more of a seafood and meat version to the Spago in LA and I’m in love. We recommend the Ahi Ceviche to start then the Mahi-Mahi and Ahi Steak for dinner. They were seasoned very well, cooked perfectly and left us wanting more.
DUO:This is where breakfast is served daily. The buffet was great and included a lot of options such as fresh fruit, pastries, hot dishes, and an omelet and waffle station.

This is also a seafood and steak restaurant at night. We didn’t get a chance to eat here but we heard from many people that is was delicious.

Fazzios:This is their Italian restaurant right by the main pool and above the beach. Chris and I had lunch here on the day we arrived and loved it. I had the Ahi Nicoise salad, Chris had a sandwich and we shared some fries. It’s a more casual option that also has a bar and tvs where we watched the Warriors games!

Below are some of the outfits I wore during our stay and others that I’d recommend packing! Everything was easy to pack and came out with minimal wrinkles. I am not a fan of ironing so I try to purchase things that will not require it.

Last time we were in Hawaii we stayed at The Andaz! We love it there as well and went back for sunset drinks and to eat at our favorite sushi spot, Morimoto.

Andaz:

The beautiful grand entrance to the view overlooking the stacked infinity pools, The Andaz has that “wow” factor down. The architecture and design is absolutely stunning. Its clean lines and natural tones play perfectly with the background of the beautiful landscape of Hawaii. I would say the Andaz is more adult oriented. There were a lot less kids and was geared more towards activities that adults could do. That said, they do have a kids pool of course but it’s just not revolved around them.

They also have an adult-only pool, which is calmer and more relaxing.

I also have tips on what rooms to stay in and what ones to avoid. Unfortunately there’s a wing of rooms that I think just doesn’t do the hotel justice. They face a side that doesn’t get much light or views so feel free to message me if you’re looking to stay here and I’ll make sure to get you booked in the nicer rooms!

They also have incredible villas right on property. I just toured the three-bedroom villa and my jaw dropped. They are HUGE, modern, come with great amenities and some have their own private pool or hot tub. I have access to some great promotions throughout the year like a 5th or 6th night free so make sure to reach out to SS Gold to book!

Restaurant:

Morimoto:Chris and I are huge foodies if you haven’t noticed! We watch cooking shows all the time and watch Chef Morimoto on Iron Chef consistently. We could not believe it but when we went to Morimoto for Chris’s birthday he was there!! We were star struck. He was so nice in person and willing to take photos with his fans at the restaurant, including us.

We have now gone to this exact same Morimoto 5 times and I think we have the ordering down. Here’s a list of our favorites J

  • Kobe Beef Carpaccio: The sauce is some of the best I’ve ever had. We liked it so much that we asked to save it and dipped some of our sushi rolls in it. Trust me, you will be in food heaven.
  • King Crab Legs: A huge hit with the waiters and waitresses as well. It comes pre cracked and open so you can just eat it with a fork. The sauce again is some of the best I’ve ever had.
  • Miso Black Cod: It melts in your mouth….enough said!
  • All the sushi is fresh and the rice comes out warm and cooked to perfection. I recommend getting the yellowtail and ahi for sure.
  • Dessert: the donuts are delightful. They come with three different sauces – a banana cheesecake, caramel and chocolate. My mouth is watering just talking about it!

Ka’apali Kitchen:Chris and I stayed at The Andaz Maui two years ago and we still talk about their buffet! It has everything you could ever want and more for breakfast or brunch. The food is so tasty and well cooked. I usually am not a huge fan of buffets and I think this is where I was converted to loving a good buffet. It had so many delicious options that Chris ate so much he gave himself a stomach ache! You don’t have to be staying at The Andaz to experience this buffet so I highly recommend trying it out even if you’re staying elsewhere.

I hope this info as been helpful on The Four Seasons and Andaz, Maui.
